DebugAIdocs

The dashboard

Find your usage, your key, your debug history and a direct line to the person who builds DebugAI on debugai.io.

The dashboard lives at debugai.io/dashboard. Sign in with the same account your editor or agent uses.

It has six tabs: Overview, Messages, History, Setup & Guide, Feedback and Settings. To open one directly, add ?tab= and its id to the address: overview, messages, history, guide, feedback or settings. For example, debugai.io/dashboard?tab=messages.

Overview

Four figures: Debugs this week, Recurring errors, Fixes holding, and Today (used out of your daily limit) or This month on a monthly plan.

Under them:

  • Daily usage, with how many remain and resets midnight UTC. On a monthly plan it reads This month, with how many included debugs are left and soft cap, resets the 1st, UTC.
  • Proactive Scan, with the scans used today, how many are left, and how many files each scan reads.
  • Still coming back: errors that keep returning in your projects, how many times each came back, and when it was last seen. Each says fix confirmed, no fix yet, or asks did the fix hold? with Yes and No. Your answer is saved with that error. How memory uses it: Error memory.

Before your first debug, the Overview shows 3 steps to your first fix and a line that waits for it: listening for your first debug…

Setup & Guide

This is where you connect things.

Connect your editor automatically opens your editor with your key already set. Pick your editor first: VS Code, Cursor, Windsurf, VSCodium or Insiders. Then press Connect and the editor's name. The extension has to be installed for this to work. If the editor does not open, the page offers Install the extension →, and the copy method below it.

If the editor already has a different key, it asks before replacing it: DebugAI: A different API key is already configured. Replace it?

Connect an AI agent gives you the one command that signs in and wires up every MCP client on your machine. Press Copy command and run it in a terminal:

npx -y @debugai/mcp setup

Under it, Enter it here → opens the page for a sign-in code you are already holding. Per-client steps: AI agents over MCP.

The tab also lists the four setup steps and shows your API key (see Your key).

Your key

Your key starts with dbg_ and is shown masked, with Reveal and Copy. You only need it for the manual route: in VS Code, run DebugAI: Set API Key and paste it. Signing in from the editor or with npx -y @debugai/mcp setup stores a key without you ever seeing it.

Never paste it into a config file that gets committed, or anywhere public.

To replace it, open Settings and press Rotate key…. The warning is exact:

Every connected editor and MCP client stops working until you reconnect them. The old key dies immediately.

Then reconnect each one: DebugAI: Sign In in your editor, and npx -y @debugai/mcp login --force for your agents.

Messages

Write here and it goes straight to the person who builds DebugAI. A real person reads these. Replies land in this tab and in your email.

A message can be up to 4,000 characters. Press Send, or Ctrl Enter (Cmd Enter on a Mac). Unread replies show a red badge on the tab.

Every tab also has a box at the bottom, Something broken, missing, or annoying?, that writes into the same thread.

History

Your past debug sessions. On the free plan the list shows the last 7 days, and says so at its end. Pro and Team keep the full history.

Feedback

Two choices: Something broke (a wrong answer, a crash, a fix that did not apply, a button that did nothing) and Something's missing (a language, an editor, a workflow). The thumbs-down Other choice in the results panel brings you here.

Settings

The Plan table shows your plan, your debugs a day or a month, when the counter resets (midnight UTC, or 1st of the month, UTC on a monthly plan) and how long history is kept. Free plans link to Pricing. Paid plans link to Manage billing, where you can cancel.

Settings also has the editor connect button, your key, and Rotate key….

Starting the Pro trial

The trial lasts 14 days and needs no card. Start it from debugai.io/upgrade with Try Pro free for 14 days. Nothing enrolls you automatically.

The dashboard shows an upgrade offer only once you have used 80% of your daily limit. Depending on your account, that offer is the founding rate, the trial or Pro.
